Bilal Asgar

Bilal is a phenomenal appointment to team LCE! He brings impressive academic achievements, complemented further by a history of competitive sport and years of experience managing one of the most influential community businesses across Rochdale. In this leadership role, Bilal was a driving force in creating opportunities for tens of thousands of children and adults to engage in healthier lifestyles, regular exercise, and active sports coaching.

An honest, committed, and empathetic leader, Bilal epitomises LCE’s core values of respect, resilience, and integrity. Throughout his educational and professional journey, he has consistently excelled, holding a BA (Hons) degree in Sport, Physical Activity and Health alongside extensive practical coaching credentials.

Bilal has substantial experience working with children across the sports industry, with a genuine knack for boosting pupils' confidence and enthusiasm to participate. He utilises his empathetic nature and diverse life experience to build strong, trusting relationships that break down barriers and increase daily engagement.

Outside of work, Bilal loves watching live sport, particularly following Manchester United (a test of his resilience!), as well as playing football and golf, cooking, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends. Passionate about the power of nutrition and physical activity, Bilal is thrilled to help LCE pupils raise their self-esteem, improve their health, and transform their overall relationship with education.
