Asked Questions
We primarily target students who are disengaged, struggling in mainstream settings, or at imminent risk of suspension and permanent exclusion. Our provision serves both primary and secondary education, featuring our specialised LCE Juniors programme (Key Stage 2) for early intervention, alongside our secondary pathways (Key Stages 3 and 4).
Traditional provisions often feel like a smaller version of the classroom environment that the student was already struggling with. LCE is entirely different because we leverage high-interest, high-adrenaline sports—like BMX, watersports, climbing, and alpine skiing—as the hook for education. We treat our students like athletes rather than outliers, which completely resets their self-image. By using elite external facilities and pairing them with professional coaches alongside our expert mentors, we bypass classroom fatigue and build genuine, organic trust before channelling that focus back into core academic learning.
Our core mission is to rapidly re-engage students back into learning and actively reduce exclusion rates. By placing vulnerable learners in smaller, high-interest practical environments, we break down defensive barriers, mend their relationship with education, and focus on therapeutic behaviour regulation. The goal is always to equip them with the mindset and stability required for a successful return to learning.
LCE blends practical, high-octane engagement with formal academic progress to rebuild school confidence. Depending on their age and personalised timetable, students can achieve:
AQA Unit Award Scheme: Flexible, bite-sized micro-credentials rewarding immediate achievements across practical and vocational tasks (perfect for building confidence in both our Juniors and Secondary pupils).
NCFE Functional Skills: Formal qualifications in English and Mathematics, delivered through low-pressure, contextualised learning for older Secondary student pathways.
Commissioners, schools, and local authorities looking to implement an exclusion-reduction intervention can initiate a placement by contacting our referrals team via the "Referral Form" portal. We will arrange an initial consultation to assess the young person's specific needs, discuss current cohort availabilities across our Junior or Secondary provisions, and design a tailored timetable to ensure a swift, supportive transition.
